Job Summary:
- The Courier Manager oversees the daily operations of the courier department, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery and collection of packages, documents, and goods. This role involves managing courier personnel, optimizing delivery routes, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and optimize delivery routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor delivery timelines and ensure prompt pickups and drop-offs.
- Resolve delivery issues, delays, or customer complaints effectively.
Operations Oversight:
- Ensure all courier vehicles are well-maintained and roadworthy.
- Monitor fuel usage, vehicle logs, and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle usage, and staff attendance.
Customer Service:
- Ensure excellent communication with clients regarding delivery expectations.
- Address and resolve client inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
- Maintain high standards of service and professionalism.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all courier activities comply with company policies and local regulations.
- Promote and enforce health and safety standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and reporting of all courier activities.
Reporting:
- Prepare regular operational reports (e.g., delivery volumes, on-time rates, fuel usage).
- Provide performance feedback and recommendations for improvements.
Other Requirements
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3 years experience in courier services.
- Good knowledge of route planning and fleet management.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient in logistics software and MS Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
- Valid driving license
